C++ Developer

Job description


Our Client Develops sells and maintains electronic security technology systems for purposes such as access control, fire detection, video management and monitoring. The company also provides additional consulting services related to this. The company was founded in 1991 and has its HQ in Achern in Baden and has 16 offices in total including regional sales offices. The main centre for development is at a subsidiary company in Munich called where around 25 people are employed in development.

Main Requirements

  • A completed university degree in computer science or a comparable education
  • Very strong C++
  • experience with clean code, design patterns and debugging
  • good knowledge of Visual Studio, TFS Version Control, JIRA and Confulence
  • Lunux, bash, make, CMake, Signale pthreads
  • Some basic understanding of C# for tools, as well as Android or JS or Python for porting onto cameras (but not totally vital)
  • Fluent German and good written and spoken English

Tasks / project details

  • Porting of software modules onto embedded systems through integration of APIs of various hardware providers (Linux)
  • Designing software components including selecting appropriate technologies and frameworks
  • Autonomous development of components using maintainable code (Windows)
  • Developing tools for automated testing of software (selenium good but not needed)
  • Communicating with technology (hardware) partners
  • Documenting, testing and release of software

Position is to work alongside existing C++ developers who deal with video but no video skills are needed. This person would then take over all the non video-related development work.
